In short
- Visitors see a consent banner in your wording and your colors.
- The free Cookie Notice plugin does it, with a real refuse option.
- Link your privacy policy; WordPress can start one for you.
- A WordPress plugin runs on WordPress; the IDX pages are separate.
MyHome IDX does not ship a consent banner, so you add one with a plugin you control. We suggest Cookie Notice, which is free.
Set up the banner
-
1
Install the plugin
Go to Plugins then Add New, search for Cookie Notice, install and activate.
-
2
Write the message
Open the plugin settings and set the banner text and button labels in your own words.
-
3
Link your privacy policy
Point the More information link at your privacy policy page. WordPress can generate a starting page under Settings then Privacy if you do not have one yet.
-
4
Turn on the refuse option
Switch it on so consent is a real choice. Script blocking is available too, and the free plugin's automatic blocking is limited, so check that analytics and ad pixels really hold back until consent.
-
5
Match your colors
Set the bar and text colors to your brand, pick the position and save.
What about the IDX pages
Your search results, listing details and agent pages are served by your IDX Broker account and take your header and footer through the wrapper. A WordPress plugin runs on your WordPress pages, so what appears there is not guaranteed to behave the same on the IDX side. If you need the notice there as well, write to our support and we will look at your setup with you.
Want the banner handled for you?
We can install it and style it to your brand, then look at the IDX pages with you.
