What adding the key actually does
You paste your IDX Broker API key in the IDX Plugin dashboard and a 30-day IDX Plugin test starts. It builds a set of ready widgets for you, search forms and listing widgets, already running on the data from your IDX Broker account. The search forms live on our side. The listing widgets are registered on your IDX Broker account, so the cards can pull your listings. The search form comes set to your own locations, so a search lands on your own results.
Each one is a working widget you can put on your site today. Open Show Embed Code, paste it on a page, and it runs for the 30 days, and past that once you assign us. This is the same search form, live:
Styling the built-in IDX Broker pages is optional
Global Styles work during the IDX Plugin test, and they reach the built-in IDX Broker templates too, like Contact, Mortgage Calculator, Home Valuation and My Account. This part stays off until you switch it on, so nothing on a live site moves while you are only looking around. Set your colors and typography, turn it on for the templates you want, and watch those pages take your brand.

Try the styling on the built-in templates, if you want
Set your brand in Global Styles, then turn the styling on for the built-in IDX Broker templates you choose. Nothing on your pages changes until you do.
